Trading the materials critical to cement manufacturing and the global construction sector.
Cement is at the core of Comet Trading's identity. Long before the company was formally established in Geneva in 2017, our founding team had already built deep expertise in trading clinker, finished cement and supplementary cementitious materials across global markets. It is the vertical from which Comet Trading grew, and it remains a central pillar of our business today.
We work with producers, importers and industrial end-users across four continents, supplying the raw materials and finished products that keep cement plants running and construction projects moving forward. Our network spans key import markets in Africa, the Middle East, South and South-East Asia and Latin America, regions where demand for affordable, reliable supply is strongest.

Our cement portfolio covers the full supply chain from raw kiln inputs through to finished cement in multiple packing formats, as well as key supplementary cementitious materials used to improve performance and lower production costs.

The intermediate product of the cement kiln process, clinker is the primary raw material for ordinary Portland cement production. We trade clinker in bulk on major import and export routes, connecting surplus production capacity with deficit markets worldwide. Our understanding of quality parameters, chemistry specifications and vessel requirements allows us to serve buyers and sellers with precision.
We supply finished cement, ordinary Portland cement (OPC), blended cements and special grades, in all major packing formats: bulk vessel, jumbo bag and palletised bags. This flexibility allows us to match supply to the specific handling infrastructure and end-use requirements of each market, from large-scale import terminals to small-port distributors.
Supplementary cementitious materials such as fly ash and natural pozzolans play an increasingly important role in modern cement formulations, reducing clinker content, improving workability and lowering the carbon intensity of finished cement. We also supply limestone and bauxite used as corrective materials in the kiln feed or as additives in the finish-grinding process.
Granulated blast-furnace slag (GBFS) and its ground form (GGBFS) are valuable by-products of integrated steelmaking that, when used as a supplementary cementitious material, significantly enhance the durability and long-term strength of concrete. We source GBFS and GGBFS from steel-producing regions and supply cement producers and ready-mix operators who depend on reliable, specification-consistent material.
The materials we trade serve a wide range of industrial and construction end-uses, from kiln production through to final concrete placement on major infrastructure projects.
Clinker, GBFS, fly ash and corrective raw materials are consumed directly by cement manufacturers. We supply both integrated plants and standalone grinding stations, adapting our offer to each facility's specific chemistry requirements and logistics constraints.
Ready-mix operators and precast concrete producers rely on a consistent supply of GGBFS and specialty cements to formulate high-performance mixes. We work with buyers to ensure specification compliance and reliable delivery schedules that keep production running without interruption.
From port expansions to housing programmes, large infrastructure projects demand substantial and predictable volumes of cement. Our logistics capabilities and trade finance expertise allow us to structure supply solutions for major project tenders in emerging and frontier markets.
We work with trading companies and import terminal operators who require flexible sourcing, reliable bill-of-lading documentation and competitive pricing. Our knowledge of global export origins, from the Mediterranean to South-East Asia, allows us to identify the right supply source for each cargo.
The industry's drive to reduce the carbon intensity of cement production is accelerating demand for supplementary cementitious materials. We actively support producers in securing fly ash, GBFS and GGBFS as part of decarbonisation strategies, contributing to a more sustainable built environment.
Rapid urbanisation across Africa, the Middle East and Asia is generating sustained long-term demand for construction materials. Our presence in these regions through offices in Cairo, Dubai and London positions us to serve developers and contractors directly in high-growth markets.
Cement trading demands more than a price list. Understanding the chemistry of clinker, the specification tolerances of each market, the environmental regulations governing fly ash classification and the vessel requirements for bulk cement shipments are all prerequisites for executing trades reliably. Our team combines this technical knowledge with strong commercial relationships built over decades.
We operate on a physical basis, buying and selling real cargoes, managing quality at origin, arranging inspection, coordinating freight and supporting our counterparties through the entire documentary cycle. It is this hands-on approach that has made cement trading the foundation of our business since the very beginning.
We go beyond transactions, delivering integrated services that reduce complexity, enhance transparency and strengthen resilience across your cement supply chain.
We coordinate shipments across major bulk trade routes, managing freight, port nominations, inspection and documentation from first enquiry to final delivery.
